The tree of life is a symbol to us of home, a place of love where we belong in a family with Heavenly Parents. This specific tree reminds me a lot of the tree of life as the evening light shines through it. As a student that aspires to be a forest ecologist I love trees, and believe that they are symbols of the divine love that we receive as children of Heavenly Parents.

A hop, skip and a 16 hour plane ride landed me in the dead middle of the Australian outback. I saw almost immediately the plentiful reasons for life to avoid the harsh reality of that environment. Yet the Aboriginal people have been there for at least 65,000 years, treating the land with an awe-inspiring reverence. Take Uluru, for instance. To a tourist, it's a unique rock, but to the Aborigines it is sacred. They showed me how to love God through the land. Science showed me the outback, but the outback showed me God.

This picture captures a moment of reflection in a tranquil garden in Italy. My study abroad enlightened my understanding of God’s work and creations because we took the time to slow down and ponder the spectacular world that God made for us. Not only did my understanding of God’s creations increase, but also my love for Him. As I noticed the details in each garden, I felt the overwhelming sense that God made the world beautiful because He loves us and wants us to enjoy it.
