Professor Gregory Jolley
Gregory Von Jolley
Where did you grow up?
Which classes do you teach?
PWS 103, 105, 198R, 211, 212, 214, 380, 391R, 494R (what don't I teach?)
What is your education/experience?
B.S. in Landscape Horticulture from BYU (1995); Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) from Kansas State University (1999)
If you were a plant, what plant would you be and why?
Gambel Oak; because I can be trained to be a tree or a shrub; I can be trained to do anything!
"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by U2
To Kill a Mockingbird and Into Thin Air
The Shawshank Redemption (edited of course)
How do you catch a polar bear? You go out on the ice, and cut a hole in it. You then place peas around the hole...when the bear comes to take a pea, you kick him in the ice hole!
Why should someone be a Plant & Landscape Systems major?
It prepares you right out of school to attend the graduate school of your choice (of course only if you have the grades and preparation) OR you are able and prepared to start a career in the landscape industry right out of school.
What is the best part of our program?
The quality of students, no doubt!
Tell us of a recent adventure:
We took the whole family (TJ, age 16; Cade, age 14: JJ age 10; Billie, age 8) to Disneyland and Sea World this summer. A great time and our first "family" vacation where we stayed in a hotel the whole time!
