Biography

Sam earned a PhD from UC Riverside and a B.S. from BYU in Biology. Her research focuses on the genomic basis of insect biodiversity by answering the following questions: How do we use phylogenies to ascertain the evolution of particular traits? How have differing environments impacted protein structure at the species, genus and family level? How do polyploid cells contribute to differences in genotype and phenotype?
