Madeline McLaughlin is a Master’s student in Environmental Science from Houston, Texas. Her work in synthetic biology focuses on creating a novel strain of bacteria that will enable the bioremediation of TCE (a major health threat and groundwater contaminant). She loves sunshine, water, and fresh air. She hopes to work in biotechnology and help develop products that contribute to public health and sustainability by applying novel research to known problems.
