Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) Forum

On March 30th, 2023, Indigenous leaders came together to share their traditional ecological knowledge with the Brigham Young University community.

Darren Parry, Mary Murdock Meyer, and Brenda Beyal shared their personal and cultural perspectives about proper relationships with creation. Kelina Anderson from Living Legends performed a Hoop Dance.

The event was extremely uplifting and healing. Three undergraduate students from the Environmental Science & Sustainability program organized the event: Eloise Christensen, Hannah Rogers, and Naomi Welling.

Support for the event was provided by the Plant and Wildlife Sciences Department, the Tribe of Many Feathers, the Office of Belonging, and the Office of Sustainability.
