Tradescantia is one of the most patient and easily cultivated of house plants. Easily propagated and spreading with ease (where the wandering term in its common name comes from). We have called it 'Wandering Dude' here even though many of you likely know it as 'Wandering Jew'.
It is likely the Jew moniker originated out of this plants meekness and wandering habit (40 years of wandering in the wilderness), however due to antisemitic connotations of the European folktale of the Wandering Jew we are joining others in the industry in attempting to rename this excellent house plant.
