He spoke on how BYU’s mission enables a union of sacred and secular studies and shared four attributes of Christ that can bring us comfort during perilous times.

Research from BYU professor of family life Jocelyn Wikle suggests that Mirabel would have a strong family connection even if she lived in the U.S. According to her research, Latino teens in the U.S. may be different from teens in other racial/ethnic groups due to distinctive cultural norms and family values, such as those displayed in “Encanto.”

BYU researchers discover locations of ancient Maya sacred groves of cacao trees
BYU researchers led a project to locate the ancient site of Maya cacao tree groves. Their work led them to sinkholes in the Yucatan, where they conducted soil anaylses to confirm evidence of cacao, a plant considered divine by the Maya.
Brent D. Craig named managing director of BYU Dining Services
BYU Assistant Administration Vice President Carr Krueger announced today that Brent D. Craig has been named the managing director of BYU Dining Services. In this position, Brent will oversee BYU’s foodservice operations, including ice cream production, the Cannon Commons, Catering, Creameries, Concessions, the Cougareat and MTC food services.

Life Science Students Win Big at CURA Awards
The Garden Court in BYU’s Wilkinson Center bustled with people on November 11, 2021, as rows of hung posters displayed the latest scientific findings by BYU Life Science students. The research ranged from the study of social dominance in humans to protein bindings; from standards for emergency and trauma care to insulin secretion.
