Native Range: Northeastern India, southern China, Vietnam
Native Habitat: Rocky, forested valleys and slopes
Cultural Use/Significance: Widely hybridized for their showy foliage, originating from Begonia rex.

Cultural Requirements
Temperature: around 60-70°F
Irrigation: Allow soil surface to nearly dry between waterings. Water sparingly if the plant goes dormant in winter.
Relative Humidity: 50% or more
Fertilizer: Heavy feeders. Apply 23-19-14 or similar at quarter strength every two weeks or slow release every three months during growing season.
Substrate: Shallow, well-draining potting mix
Light: Part to full shade
