Native Habitat: Epiphyte
Cultural Use/Significance: One of the most widely available orchids, and considered an excellent beginner orchid.
Cultural Requirements
Temperature: Prefers 60°F at night, 70-80°F during the day. Several nights down to 55°F to promote flowering.
Irrigation: Dependent on substrate and size. Should not dry completely. Do not use ice cubes or cold water.
Relative Humidity: 50% or higher
Fertilizer: Fertilize 3-4 times a month at half strength (quarter strength in winter).
Substrate: Sphagnum moss or medium grade bark with good drainage. Repot every two years or when bark is no longer firm.
Light: Indirect light
