Native Habitat: Grows up trees in tropical/subtropical areas
Cultural Use/Significance: One of the most common houseplants. Known for it’s fruit, said to taste like banana-pineapple. Rarely flowers or fruits indoors.

Cultural Requirements
Temperature: Hardy to 45°F. Prefers 60-85°F.
Irrigation: Allow the top 2-3" to dry between waterings. Reduce watering in fall and winter.
Relative Humidity: High
Fertilizer: Fertilize only during active growing months. Sensitive to soil salts.
Substrate: Well draining potting mix, strong support to grow up on
Light: Partial Shade – 3-6 hours direct light
