Cultural Use/Significance: The common name refers to the legend that this plant was used for Christ’s crown of thorns. It had been introduced to the Middle East prior to this, but it is unknown what plant was truly used.

Fertilizer: Lightly in spring and summer. Sensitive to Boron.

Day Length: Darkness at night is required for flowering
