Primary duties include assisting regional fisheries biologists with:

Colorado River Cutthroat Trout enhancement projects, including fish trap/spawning operations; stream habitat improvement projects; stream surveys; invasive species removals; high mountain lake surveys; stream rotenone treatment; equipment maintenance and data collection/entry as assigned. General lake and reservoir fisheries management: netting and electrofishing surveys, warmwater fish transfers, disease fish collection. Assist habitat program with habitat protection and enhancement activities, riparian enclosure/exclosure fencing. Community/Conservation Outreach events: fishing clinics, free fishing day

Much of this work is completed in remote areas requiring frequent overnight camping in some of the most scenic areas of the state. Campers, food, and supplies are provided on overnight trips. Housing is not provided for this position. Work related gear (waders, wader boots, uniform t-shirt and hat) is provided.
