|Project Title: Nitrous Oxide Emissions from Cropland receiving Manure

To decipher and reduce N20 emissions from soil is challenging. Manure additions can further increase the risk for such emissions to occur. This project addresses these issues and attempts to find solutions by assessing times of manure addition and the use of nitrification inhibitors.
I am seeking a responsible student interested in the project.
Knowledge of soils and nitrogen cycling,
Proactive and flexible,
Open to undertake scientific approaches and to engage data analyses and writing.
A teamwork attitude--ability to work independently and with others,
A desire to present results in public,
A 3.5 GPA or better, and
A valid driver's license and clean driving record/abstract.
Field activities will be in two sites in central Alberta. Work will involve instrumentation to quantify fluxes, soil and plant responses.
