The Habitat and Access Technician will perform a variety of building and facilities maintenance activities at the Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp. 
Position will be located near Dubois, Wyoming at the Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp. Housing is provided at the Camp. Position will be responsible for all aspects of facilities maintenance at the Camp including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing, log work and landscaping.  Facilities range in age from historic log structures to a modern dining hall and commercial kitchen. Position will be required to perform housekeeping duties prior to, and following, individual camps. Position will responsible for irrigating Trail Lake Meadow using gated pipe. Position may assist individual camp leaders with management, logistical and administrative functions related to specific camps.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.


  • Plumbing - repair cabin water and sewer lines, etc.
  • Electrical – repair minor electrical issues such as outlet and switches
  • Carpentry – repair and construct walls, steps, handrails, etc.
  • Log Work – replace log chinking, stain logs, etc.
  • Roofing – repair and replace different types of roofing (steel, shingles, shakes)
  • Grounds Maintenance – conduct grounds maintenance such as weed-eating, grass mowing, picking up branches, etc.
  • Irrigation – irrigate Camp tree lines and meadow irrigation using gated pipe
  • Applicant must be self motivated and self directed




Preference will be given to those with camp management or dude ranch management background or experience.

**Must have a valid driver's license.
 **Must pass background check.


  • Knowledge and experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing and log work.
  • Knowledge of irrigation practices, specifically using gated pipe and landscaping sprinklers and emitters.
  • Must be able to effectively and safely operate trucks, trailers, ATVs, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Skill in oral communication and in interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to work alone and exercise independent judgment.
  • Skill in organizing, planning, prioritizing, and managing time.
  • Ability to listen, be a team player and communicate with other employees and the public.

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Position will work independently outside in all weather and environmental conditions.
  • Requires strength and stamina to work in extreme outdoor conditions and pack heavy supplies to remote locations.
  • Must be able to effectively and safely operate trucks, trailers, ATVs, power tools, and hand tools.



  • FLSA: Non-exempt
  • All new hires or rehires starting in a non-exempt position on or after January 1, 2018 are required to be paid hourly.
  • Position will be located in Dubois, WY.
  • Position is for 6 months.
  • Housing will be provided.
  • Uniform, rain gear, and other necessary gear will be provided when in the field.
