The Utah State University (USU) Water Check Program offers free landscape irrigation evaluations to participants in Salt Lake City, Sandy City, and Eagle Mountain City, with occasional paid travel to surrounding communities. The program typically runs from May through August each year. End dates are negotiable.
Employees evaluate problems found in irrigation systems in decorative landscapes and conduct catch cup tests to determine several factors, including precipitation rate (how much water is being applied to a landscape) and distribution uniformity (how evenly the water is applied).
A list of irrigation system problems, a recommended watering schedule, and various water conservation education materials are calculated and presented to the participant.
Training is provided, so prior experience is recommended but not required.
Preference will be given to students (or graduates) in one of the following (or related) fields:

Preference will also be given to those with experience through employment or education in landscape plant and turf identification, soil type identification, irrigation systems, and environmental education.
