Now in its 17th year, BTI’s Plant Genome Research Program (PGRP) offers an opportunity to work side-by-side with plant science experts and gain experience in:

  • Biology
  • Biochemistry
  • Biotechnology
  • Genetics and Genomics
  • Bioinformatics

The 2018 Plant Genome Research Program Summer Internship at the Boyce Thompson Institute and Cornell University is now seeking undergraduate and local high school applicants! We are requesting your assistance in sharing this opportunity broadly with your students and relevant departments.

For the past 17 years, the National Science Foundation has supported this outstanding student development program that focuses on training and inspiring the next generation of scientists.

Located on the Cornell University campus, BTI is a world leader in plant research and is dedicated to developing innovative solutions to feed a growing population, while protecting the environment and enhancing human health. The summer internship programs at BTI offer students an unmatched opportunity to gain real-life experience in plant science research and bioinformatics.

PROGRAM DATES:
Undergraduate: June 4, 2018 – August 10, 2018
High School: June 26, 2018 – August 10, 2018

SUPPORT:
Undergraduate interns receive free housing, $1,050 for meals, travel, and $5,250 stipend over 10 weeks. High school interns will receive a $2,400 stipend over 6 weeks.

ELIGIBILITY:
Undergraduate applicants must be (1) US citizens or permanent residents (2) enrolled in a college/university, and (3) at least 18 years of age by June 1, 2018.
High school interns do not have to be US citizens or permanent residents, but must be living locally during their internship (within a daily commute of Ithaca). They are not eligible for housing, travel or meal allowance.
